The Social Emotional Support Coach supports the university’s neurodivergent college students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges through providing well-being services, including coaching, for these students who participate in the On Your Marq Program. This will include weekly seminars, drop-in support times, and weekly one on one sessions to foster personal student growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support the social and emotional well-being of the students in the On Your Marq Program to encourage academic success and personal growth. Meets with students 1:1 to provide social and emotional coaching and support. Collaborate with the Executive Functioning Coaches as needed.
2. Facilitate group social emotional learning to include weekly seminars that cover topics including, but not limited to conflict resolution, self-esteem, friendship skills, relationship skills, and emotional regulation skills.
3. Provide drop-in social and emotional support on a rotating basis.
4. Communicates with student’s faculty, campus support offices, and family as needed, ensuring compliance and confidentiality.
5. Attend University Admissions events, information sessions, conferences, and resource fairs on behalf of On Your Marq.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Speech Language Pathology
One year of relevant work experience required.
Experience working with neurodiverse adolescents and/or adults.
A passion for working with neurodivergent individuals and possess excellent communication skills.
Strong skills in rapport building and the ability to hold ethical boundaries and respect confidentiality.
Proven understanding of evidence-based practices that address social and emotional difficulties commonly experienced in college.
Experience working with those who may become behaviorally dysregulated or have co-occurring mental health concerns is necessary for this role.
One year of relevant work experience required.
