Position Overview

The Accounting Department in the Norm Brodsky College of Business at Rider University seeks adjunct instructors for the Fall 2025 and  Spring 2026 semesters.


Specific courses are listed below:


ACC 400 - Principles of Auditing 3 Credits (FALL 2025) This is an in-person delivery course

This course provides an introduction to financial statement audits performed by certified public accountants. Topics include corporate governance, the audit environment, professional standards, audit methodology, and audit report preparation. The course also provides an overview of other types of assurance and non-assurance services provided by CPA firms.

MACC654 - Issues in Financial Reporting (FALL 2025) Hybrid - class meets in person once per week for 7 weeks and meets asynchronously online as well


This course uses the conceptual framework to examine standards for financial reporting. Theoretical and conceptual assessments of current reporting issues pertaining to asset valuation and income measurement are addressed through cases, readings, and projects. Topics to be investigated from term to term vary depending on their importance and timeliness to the profession. 



MACC 672 – Information Technology Auditing (FALL 2025) Online asynchronous


Determines relevant audit procedures at all stages of the IT audit process (i.e., risk assessment, review of controls, test of controls, and substantive tests). Examines information systems to ensure an integrated security approach of both physical and logical information technology (“IT”) controls. Plans and performs compliance tests for integrated security. Evaluates security risks, threats, and attacks and develops appropriate tests to mitigate these risks. Understands prominent cybersecurity frameworks and emerging technology risks impacting the profession. Considers planning, performing, and reporting of SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports. 


MACC 667 - Business Valuations: Fundamentals, Techniques and Theory (SPRING 2026) Online asynchronous

This course examines fundamentals of business valuations including basic, intermediate, and some advanced concepts and methodologies required by accounting and finance professionals in valuing a closely held (privately-owned) business where there is no market price.

Salary is $4,133.31 for a 3 credit course.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.


Requirements for ACC400: ( FALL 2025)

  • Master’s   Degree  (or higher)  in the area of teaching.

  • Must be proficient in Excel and IDEA audit software or similar.

  • Must be available to teach the course during the day.


Requirements for MACC654: (FALL 2025)

  • Master’s   Degree  (or higher)  in the area of teaching.

  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Must be available to teach the course during the day.


Requirements for MACC672:  (FALL 2025)

  • Master’s   Degree   (or higher)   in the area of teaching.

  • Advanced knowledge of audit procedures across all stages of the IT audit process.


Requirements for MACC667:  (SPRING 2026)

  • Master’s   Degree   (or higher)   in the area of teaching.

  • Advanced knowledge of business valuations.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Prior   teaching   experience

  • Industry   experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • CPA   or   other   relevant   professional   certification
